Why does glabrous skin contain no active vasodilators whilst non-glabrous skin does?

Non-glabrous skin contains neurons for both vasodilatation and vasoconstriction whilst glabrous skin contains neurons only for vasoconstriction (with vasodilatation controlled by the withdrawal of stimulation to the vasoconstrictors). Why is this?
